It’s Foodie Friday, and the food on most Americans’ minds this weekend will be buffalo wings, pizza, and beer. In fact, I shared last year that Americans consume 325 million gallons of beer, 1.23 billion chicken wings, and 11 million pounds of chips. Wow! I’m all about indulging every once in a while, but if you want to limit the damage this weekend and enjoy some healthy treats instead of the traditional Super Bowl options, I’ve got several healthy Super Bowl snacks for you today. Just click on the pictures to see each recipe. Enjoy!
Super (Bowl) Veggie Fries
Creamy Kale Artichoke Dip
Asparagus Feta Pizza on Cauliflower Crust
Balsamic Tofu Mushroom Bites
Chickpea-Free Broccoli Hummus
Simple Butternut Squash Dip
Veggie-Loaded Guacamole
Healthy Greek Turkey Burgers
(Not So) Sinfully Delicious Apple Nachos
As a side note, I want to highlight this article that I think was very well written and helpful. In it, a doctor admits that the dietary advice he’s been giving for 25 years has been wrong … and that a low-fat, highly processed, high-sugar standard American diet is causing the inflammation that leads to heart disease. Focusing on real, whole foods is the best thing you can do for your long-term health!
So tell me in the comments … Which recipe looks best? What will you be enjoying during the Super Bowl?
We were just discussing this – we always have a mix of stuff, but really want to focus on dsoing it totally healthy this year, and are working hard on renewing the focus on Lisa’s allergy and intolerance issues (after check up with her PCP and referrals to new allergist and other stuff) … now sure what we’ll do yet … but thanks for collectingn up all of these great ideas!
Go Patriots 🙂
Can I pick all of them?? I don’t care about the game, but I’d come watch it with you just for the food. And the company, obv. 😉
