Happy Motivation Monday!
Have you ever felt like no matter how you try at something, it’s just never good enough for someone else? Some people tend to nag, criticize, push you for more, or tell you that you’re not there yet. Let’s give them the benefit of the doubt – maybe they’re just trying to make you even better and encouraging you towards continuous improvement. Still, it can sometimes make you feel that you are “not enough.”
Just a simple message today … you ARE enough. If someone is making you feel that you’re not, it may be time to walk away, or at least be strong and confident enough to know that their measure of worth does not define you. You are wonderful, and if you’re really trying your best, that’s all you can ask of yourself!
Look at how far you’ve come (not just how far you still have to go), give yourself a pat on the back for your successes so far, list 3 reasons why you ARE enough … do whatever it takes to remember that you’re doing great!
So tell me in the comments … What do you do to remember that you are enough, even when others are trying to bring you down?
i’m late to comment, but just know i have read this each day.so thank YOU
You were late to comment and I’m even later to respond, but you know what? It’s ok! So glad it had a positive impact on you. YOU, my friend, are wonderful!
THAT IS THERE PROBLEM! I am sort of dealing with this right now. I might be GOOD ENOUGH but he always puts me down (and then tells me I am perfect)??? Uhhhhhh confusing, but I don’t let it get to me because I am happy enough with myself to know that I AM NOT THE PROBLEM!
Yikes, Gigi, I hope you’re resolving your situation with the person that puts you down! You are better than that!!
Definitely their problem!! You will never please everyone. Have a great day 🙂
It’s one of the most freeing things I’ve ever realized, Deborah!
I think it’s always important to reflect on where you were and where you are now – it’s a good reminder that we’re always making progress, even if we don’t see it all at once!
I agree, Pragati! Progress can be slow, but it’s still a step in the right direction!
This is absolutely fabulous and important!
I have always loved the “I am enough” mantra, it is a great reminder that the only person you should ever be chasing or trying to satisfy is yourself.
Your other image reinforces this – I think we ALL have people like this in our lives, and what is it we are going to do about it? Nothing – because they will never be happy, and therefore we can never be happy … so we need to break free!
You’re so right, Michael. It’s hard to just “release” those people that will continue to judge us, but it’s so worth it!
YES! I always talk about how important it is to know that you are ENOUGH, just as you are!! 😀
Awesome, Lora! Have a great day!
“if you’re really trying your best” — THAT’S the kicker!
I don’t even remember the context at this point, but I remember reading your comment and thinking “omg … she probably saw me slacking off at bootcamp today”. Ha!!
