Happy Motivation Monday! It’s time to be present through the holiday season.
Now is the time of year when people are starting to adopt the “just-get-through-it” mentality. I’m sure you’ve heard people say “I’ll just get through this week of craziness, and then I’ll actually enjoy my life,” or “this month is going to be so stressful with all of the holiday parties / gift giving / traveling … I just can’t wait until next month,” or even “there’s no use starting to eat healthily or exercise now … I’ll just wait until January 1st and restart then.”
Have you said any of those? I’ll admit, I’ve fallen into the trap, too. Any of those sentiments, though, take us out of the present moment, and have us hoping or waiting for the future. If we only aspire to get by and don’t actually enjoy the moment, we miss so many of the wonderful things life has to offer!
So today, I challenge you to be present. Every moment doesn’t have to be perfect, but you can enjoy each one a lot more if you allow yourself to be present in it. Stressed about remembering to buy holiday gifts for everyone on your list? Remember what a gift it is to be able to buy those gifts, and to have so many people in your life to celebrate. Worried about the big work project that will take place in January? Know that things have a funny way of working out if you trust in the process, remember that the present moment is all you have, and don’t forget to enjoy it.
***Stay tuned for a BIG announcement coming later this week!!! I can’t wait for you to hear about what I’ve been working on!***
Now it’s your turn … Can you commit to living more in the present this week?
Can’t agree with your more! Present is just the best moment for us and there is no need to worry about the future, just live at the moment!
Such an inspirational post! I absolutely agree that it is important to be there for every moment, good or bad!
It can be hard to be present this time of year it’s so stressful. I am certainly feeling over committed! Thanks for the reminder
I’m usually pretty darn good about staying present, but this post was great timing for the holiday season! Just this morning I found myself wishing it was next week so I could be home with family. Thank you for the reminder! I am now going to enjoy my wonderful IIN module, sip some tea and write in my gratitude journal 🙂
I honestly think there is never a bad time for this reminder, but especially at the holidays where we seem to be so busy doing stuff that is supposed to help us enjoy the time and people … that it is easy to forget that we could instead cut ourselves some slack and just take the time to enjoy those around us. I know with our son coming home from college our focus is on just having some great times with the 4 of us.
Can’t wait to hear what you have coming 🙂
What a great reminder with perfect timing. THANK YOU, Megan.
